To Live. To Love. To Worship.
Scripture
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (2 Corinthians 3.17)

Devotional Thought
Paul referred to the Lord as being the Spirit. That means that when we are in the Spirit, we are in the Lord Jesus himself. This in turn, helps us understand our freedom in the Spirit.
In Jesus we have freedom...
- To live. Before we come to know Jesus, we are in bondage to the power and the penalty of sin. When Jesus comes into our lives, the power of sin is broken! That does not mean we suddenly become perfect in our performance; rather we have been liberated. We no longer must obey sin’s desires. Instead, we can walk in newness of life, in the way God created us. Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth and the life… Whom the Son sets free is free indeed!”
- To love. God is love. Jesus demonstrates God’s love. The Spirit pours that love into our hearts. When we live in the power of the Spirit of the Lord, we no longer are bound by fear, by a lack of forgiveness, by anger, or by hatred. If you are having trouble loving someone, ask the Spirit in you to love them through you. Remember what Jesus did for you and ask him to help you do that for them.
- In worship. When the glory of the Lord rises among us, we are set free from the gravity of this earthly life and begin to move in a heavenly orbit. “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit” (2 Corinthians 3.18).
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom: To live! To love! To worship!
Prayer
Lord, set me free to live in victory over sin, in love with those around me, and in the glory of your presence continually! Amen.
